Community Development

Strengthening Communities Through Education and Collaboration

Heritage Community School is more than an educational institution – it is a community hub that supports families, promotes well-being, and fosters social development.
In rural communities like Dokolo, schools play an essential role in community life. They provide spaces where families, leaders, and organizations can come together to address social challenges and create opportunities for growth.

Through our community development programs, we work with parents, local leaders, and partners to support children and families beyond the classroom.

Community Health Outreach

Access to healthcare services remains a major challenge for many families in rural Uganda. To address this need, Heritage Community School organizes community health outreach programs that provide essential services to children and parents.
Our first community health outreach reached over 300 children and parents in the area.

Services provided included:

  • Nutritional assessments
  • Vitamin supplementation
  • Deworming treatment
  • Treatment for fungal infections
  • Health education for families
  • HIV testing services
  • Family planning information
  • Vital signs monitoring

These outreach programs help improve health awareness and encourage preventive healthcare practices within the community.
We aim to conduct these health outreaches twice per academic year.
