Water Access Project

Providing Clean, Safe and Reliable Water

Access to clean water is a major challenge at Heritage Community School.
Currently, the school relies on staff members who must travel approximately 3.4 kilometers several times each day to collect water for the school. Each trip involves transporting up to 80 liters of water by bicycle.

As the school continues to grow, this method of water collection is becoming increasingly unsustainable.
The Water Access Project aims to establish a reliable and safe water source within the school premises.

This project will include:

  • Site identification and water source assessment
  • Drilling of a borehole or installation of a water system
  • Water quality testing
  • Installation of storage and distribution systems

Providing a reliable water supply will greatly improve sanitation, hygiene, and overall health conditions at the school.

In addition to benefiting the learners and teachers, the water system will also serve members of the surrounding community who currently face similar challenges accessing clean water.
